Take Me to Nantucket

One day I'm going to spend the summer in Nantucket. Or least a weekend. All I ever see are beautiful cottages and fabulous gardens coming from there. Take this peaceful and cozy home belonging to Boston interior designer Nancy Serafini for example. Each room has so many neat elements to look at. And how cheery is that green guest room? I had to include it (I swear I spy turquoise in the valance and shams!) Head over to Traditional Home to see more, including the path of crushed seashells that leads to the arbored garden entrance. You just don't find that in Minnesota!

Pure Design

I love this eco-friendly bedroom designed by Samantha Pynn that was featured on Design Wanna-be. I wish I had a TV right now because Samantha has a show called Pure Design on HGTV that is supposed to be great. If her other rooms are as lovely as this, I must check it out. Have any of you seen the show?

Sheila Bridges

I was excited to spot this Harlem home belonging to designer Sheila Bridges. Last year So Haute wrote a fantastic post about her, so to learn more and see lots more images head here. My favorite room is definitely the top image, Sheila's study, where some of her favorite quotes are hand painted on the walls. I love it!

Carrie Raphael

I fell hard for this Victorian farmhouse in Maryland belonging to designer Carrie Raphael when I spotted it on Simply Seleta. I just love the Swedish style used here. There are so many great details...the painted floor, slipcovers, the benches, the church window...love it all. You can check out more images from this home on Country Living, and be sure to check out Carrie Raphael's site for lots more Victorian inspiration, and to see her collection of custom designed, vintage inspired pieces for sale.

Oh So Pretty

The painted shelves in this dining room photographed by Donna Griffith really highlight the beautiful collection of white dishes. I can't even imagine how boring it would look if it was just painted white. The loveliness is only heightened with the matching blue chairs. So pretty!

A Maine Cottage

Lovely reader Ellen sent me an article from Better Homes and Gardens (Oct '08) that featured this beautiful home. She knew I'd love it and I do! The photographer James Salomon was kind enough to send me the photos that were featured in the article so I could share them with you! Can you believe it...this home in a coastal town of Maine is 100 years old. I adore the built-in bookcases, the sand-colored walls, and the splashes of turquoise in the Maine Cottage fabric and paint. The uncovered windows are fantastic too. Let that light in! To see more of Jamie's work that I've featured, go here and here and definitely check out his online portfolio here. Have a great weekend everyone! :)

Robin's Egg for All

Maybe it's just me, but I think pretty much any room is 10 times prettier with a shade of robin's egg blue on the wall. I love the combinations of blues, paired with the bright greens in these photographs by Eric Roth. All so cheerful and relaxed! The top image is my fav though. I love the white built-ins showing off those great collections. And the blue furniture. Love turquoise and blue together.

And thank you so much everyone for all your nice comments yesterday. You guys made my day even better than it already was! :)

"At Home"...with Me!

I need to say a huge thank you to Kim Yeager of the Star Tribune for asking me to be an "At Home" feature. It was such a pleasure having her and the photographer Joel Koyama come into my home last month. If you want to learn a little more about me and see a couple photos of my home, the article is in today's paper. Or just go here to read the interview online! And here is a little Bio Box they put together. So fun!

Tobi Fairley

This gorgeous bedroom in the Build for the Cure Idea House by designer Tobi Fairley knocked my socks off when I spotted it in her online portfolio. Then I discovered her fantastic blog (where have I been?!) and found even more images of the room, including the always-fun befores-and-afters. This room is just divine...love the mix of patterns and serene color palette. And all the light pouring in! I'd never leave!

Philip Gorrivan

I am loving this colorful master bedroom belonging to talented designer Philip Gorrivan and featured by New York Social Diary last year. It is understated and elegant, and uses all of my favorite fresh colors. I think we can all agree that the seagrass wallcovering is divine! You can see different images of the room in his portfolio and around the net, but I like these because they are more "real". There's even a phone by the bed!

Make a Wish Upon a Starfish

I thought this image taken by photographer Eric Roth was just too pretty not to share. How fantastic is that mirror?! Seriously how many finger starfish do you think it took to make it?! What a dramatic piece to welcome visitors into the home. I love it!

Love the Coral Pink

Cassandra of Coco+Kelley just had a great post where she featured the most beautiful summer dress. The color palette of it perfectly matched many beautiful rooms she also featured, this one designed by Kelly Wearstler being my favorite since I'd never seen it before. What a lucky little girl who calls this her own. The colors are fantastic! And wow is that bed ever amazing. I love the artwork of the dresses on the walls too. Would love to see those drawing up close!
