Hamilton Design Associates

When I saw a tasty post filled with bold pattern and vibrant color on Gorgeous Shiny Things, I wasn't at all surprised to learn they were designed by Ellen Hamilton of Hamilton Design Associates. (She was, after all, the mastermind behind this marvelous bedroom.) Her portfolio is full of bold, colorful design, but also these dreamy seaside escapes too. That kitchen!!! Oh my word. Excuse me while I stare off into these images....it's snowing here....again. Ugh!!!

Dunes and Duchess

Don't you guys love showhouses?? They're always so fun, filled with inspiration. This particular library designed by Patricia LaPierre of Greenwich Design Architects was in the Shippan Designer Showhouse. The space was styled by Stacy Kunstel and photographed by Michael Partenio. The talented duo actually started their own company last fall called Dunes and Duchess. They create the most amazing, giant candelabras and lamps in the coolest colors. (You can see more here...love all those photos!) If you happen to be going to the NYIGF next week, stop by and check out some of their new stuff. (And say hi to them for me for me!) Ooh and Stacy is one of the speakers at the Design Bloggers Conference! I am getting so excited for that!

Campagne Décoration

Ladies, your tea is ready!! I thought since you guys loved that French home so much that I shared a couple ago, you might appreciate this one too. Gracing the cover of this month's Campagne Décoration (Country Decoration), the darling space is made for delectable treats, pleasant conversation and a little bit of sunshine. What a magnifique way to spend an afternoon!

Incredible Wooden Bathtub

Have any of you ever seen a wooden bathtub before?! I didn't even know they existed! Inspired by the comfort of an antique armchair and the sweeping sheer of a sailboat, Bath in Wood of Maine has been crafting wooden bathtubs for three years. This particular double bathtub featured in Design New England is made from a deep-sealed Honduran mahogany. Imagine how long the water would stay warm in that! (And what fun kids would have pretending it was a boat!) Oh, and the bead-board wainscoting is painted Benjamin Moore's Silver Marlin. How could I forget! To learn more about these unique wooden tubs, head over here!

Ooh la la!

You just don't see stuff like this here in the States. Straight out of France, this home featured in Campagne Décoration is storybook beautiful. I can't even imagine eating dinner at that dining table, surrounded by the aqua-painted eighteenth century woodwork. Don't even get me started on a soak in that tub! And that armoire is killing me! See more of this glorious home right over here!

Turquoise and Pink Girl's Room

If anyone can prove that good design doesn't always have to cost a fortune, it's the talented Judy of DIY by Design. She recently revealed the transformation of her ten year-old daughter's room, who requested her space have aqua in it. Judy chose Benjamin Moore Whispering Spring for three of the walls, and stenciled the pink wall all by herself! Amazing! In fact, so much of what you see Judy made by herself, in addition to a few great finds from Home Goods, Target or PB Kids. You have to head over to her blog for more images and to read all about this dreamy space!

Design Bloggers Conference

It should come as no surprise that this clean and light little boy's room is out of Scandinavia. I first saw it on Norske Interiørblogger, but you can check out more of the space on the Norwegian blog Lykke Bo. A side note: I studied Norwegian two years in college, part of that full-time in Oslo. My norsk today?? Ikke så bra. It's a good thing lovely rooms and beautiful photography speak a universal language!

So have you guys all heard about the upcoming Design Bloggers Conference?? It's a two-day conference out in LA at the end of February. So many of our favorite design bloggers are speaking, and even more attending. (You can see the list of both here.) Can you imagine...two whole days entirely focused on design blogging?! Meeting all of our cyber friends?! Networking with some super-talented people?! What a dream come true!!! I've officially decided that I'm attending, so if any of you are as well, please let me know!

I wish you all a wonderful weekend! Stay warm!

Honey Collins

This lovely 1903 Shingle Style house on Massachusetts's North Shore photographed by Michael J. Lee and featured in Design New England is all about the elegance of the Old South. The challenge interior designer Honey Collins faced in decorating this classic New England home was respecting the inherent formality while making it feel warm, exciting and fresh. I love the mix of patterns everywhere, and the perfect combination of subtle and bold color. The "landing room" is brilliant, I'd love to have a space just like it. See more of this beautiful home right on over here!

Hillary Thomas

You guys remember that Calypso Blue bathroom I shared last week?? The design genius behind it and the rooms above is Hillary Thomas. "Go BOLD...not beige!" was her New Year's Resolution this year and I'm thinking she'll have no problem keeping that one. First and foremost, I love that she loves (like I love) pink and turquoise. Her rooms all feel so alive and vibrant, filled with layers, fabulous color and pattern. How fantastic are those blown-up photographs?? (Somehow I doubt photos of my cats would look that cool!) Head on over to her website for lots more colorful, fun spaces!

Turquoise and Cream Kitchen

So simple, but oh so pretty! This delightful kitchen in an early-19th century home located in Berkshire, England was featured in 25 Beautiful Homes. The combination of aqua (Aqua Blue by Neptune) and cream (Calico by Neptune) is so fresh here, very pretty with all the rustic wood. The reclaimed pine flooring is so beautiful, and I just love all the light pouring in from the french doors!

Fabulous Dream Bathroom!

When I saw this breathtaking master bathroom on Home Bunch, I immediately wished I could be magically transported into the dreamy space. (And not just because our furnace is broken and won't go above 62 degrees and a warm bath would feel amazing right now...) I look at a lot of pretty rooms every day, but surprisingly not that many stir up envy. I have to admit that this one does...in a major way. I WANT this bathroom. I'm pretty sure I NEED this bathroom. (Although my dad will tell you I have a history of confusing those two terms...!) You can see more of this amazing beach home here, but definitely head to Home Bunch because Luciane has an incredible collection of eye candy and inspiration going there!

Have a fantastic weekend you guys!!

Rustic Retreat

I can't remember ever stumbling on a home quite like this one! Featured in the South African magazine Home and photographed by Adriaan Oosthuizen, this amazing Paarl Valley home features a compromise of style between the two owners. He wanted the elements of a rustic farmhouse filled with leather and wood, she wanted femininity. I'm particularly fond of the lighting in every photograph. And that fridge!!! I'd love a week away here to unwind!

Calypso Blue

Designer Hillary Thomas helped create this eclectic bathroom featured in the newly-released issue of Lonny. I cannot get enough of the Benjamin Moore Calypso Blue on the walls here...it's a perfect companion to the white beadboard. Not sure I could live without a mirror above the sink, but the artwork is all very cool. The hand-painted Lulu DK fabric on the window shade and Moravian star light are great touches too, as is the cute starfish! See more of this inspiring home over here!

Sunny Yellow Cottage

Sunshine and summertime today, courtesy of Cottage Life magazine! This tiny cabin located near Sault Ste Marie, Michigan couldn't be any cuter. The owner selected a yellow and green palette to reflect the summer light and fill the rooms with warmth, and used turquoise as the perfect accent. I loved her tip for decorating on a budget: You have to be patient. She has been collecting those cute turquoise striped Carrigaline dishes from Cork, Ireland for more than 10 years...and never pays more than $1 for each one. That's the way I like it!

Dream Workspace

One of things I was most excited about when I moved last year was finally having my own office. I had big dreams for the space...pretty AND efficient, an inspiring space full of color and life. That was 6 months ago. Right off the bat I got a fabulous new floor (thanks Dad!), pretty BM Waterfall walls (thanks Chris!)......and some leftover Ikea furniture from my apartment. No art, no curtains, no door even. So that's my resolution for the new year, fancy up my workspace. This one from MyHomeIdeas would be perfect. They call it the "family control center". I call it a turquoise blogger's dream!
